September is the last month of my tours for 2009 and here is the availability:

9th September – Gayda and Limoux – 2 places left

10th September – Corbières tour – 4 places left

15th September – Roussillon tour – 4 places left

17th September – Minervois tour – 4 places left

30th September – Minervois tour – 4 places left

The price is 70 euros per person which includes a 3 course lunch, all tastings, transport throughout the tour and of course a day with a wine teacher, c’est moi!

Wine Tasting week commencing24th Aug 2009

Wednesday 26th August – a Minervois tour which includes a visit to a winery where they will be bottling there top cuvee and we will see the interesting process of the mobile bottling plant. The tour also includes a visit to a superb winery in the hills near to St Jean du Minervois where not only will we taste the wine but take a walk through the vines with the wine maker to assess the time for picking. Afterwards we will visit a goat farm, see the goats being milked and taste the wonderful produce then finish off with a tasting of olive oil.

Thursday 27th August – the Corbières tour is available and the itinerary is the same as the 19th August.

All the above tours are 70 euros each including a super lunch.

Friday Classics in Caunes

This Friday is the last of the series for 2009. A Brahams concert is featured under the directorship of Jean-Francois Gardell.

As usual a meal is available beforehand. Tickets are going fast co call at the Turist Office asap

There are two free concerts in Carcassonne today (27 Th July) Agroup of french singers and a theatre Group presenting "Le Cauchemar De Trencavel"

Friday Classics in Caunes

This Friday (3rd July) sees the start of the concert season in the Abbey in Caunes. This is the 9th season and this year we have operatic works fron Italy, an evening of Rossini,a Bulgarian choir and to conclude an evening of Brahams

The concerts start at 9.30 pm each evening and are all preceded by an opportunity for a meal in the Abbey gardens (

booking is essential)

Tickets and reservations for the cold supper can be obtained from the tourist office or we can do that for you

This excellent restaurant is certainly the closest since it is directly across the street from L’Ancienne Boulangerie. The owner, Frederic is a superb host with a distinctly unusual sense of humour. The menu features local dishes and everyone should dine here at least once during their stay in Caunes-Minervois. Please ask us to make a reservation when booking with us. Auberge de la Clamoux, Villeneuve, 6km

This lovely country restaurant is 5 minutes away by car. It is cheerful and inexpensive and certainly one of our favourites. Michelle the owner is a lovely lady and she will do all that she can to make your evening an excellent one 0468261569

L’Oustal de Citou, Citou, 7km

Dine with Jean Michel and Yolande in their home -------literally in their dining room. Reservations are essential since they prepare only for the number of people booked in for that evening. There is a set meal but on booking you can always make it known that there are certain foods you would prefer not to have and they will make alternative suggestions. The drive to the restaurant takes about 15 minutes but it is an exhilarating route especially on the way home! 0468780899

Located along the Canal du Midi in Homps this restaurant
offers local cuisine which is usually served in the garden to the rear of the property. Excellent food at reasonable prices. Again it is better to book but we will do that for you.

La Bergerie, Aragon , 19km

This is dining at a very high level. Fabien Galibert is a talented young chef who serves local cuisine prepared with local produce from local farmers e.g. Roast pike with semi mashed ratte and capers, or monkfish cheek fried in breadcrumbs with green cabbage and black pudding. The building and setting are exquisite although sometimes a little difficult to find. We assure you however it is worth the journey 0468261065

El Campo Trebes, 15km

This place is resolutely Latin, serving Spanish and Italian cuisine. There is a wide choice of pizzas and fresh home made pasta, tapas and a mix of Spanish dishes. Themed nights are organized regularly 0468786161

This is an excellent pizzeria but offering other nightly specials. It is cheap and cheerful but very acceptable 0468782977

La Grande Fontaine Caunes- Minervois 0 km

The Snack Bar, the Pub—we just call it our local. It offers simple meals but the food is generally very good. It offers good value for lunch at 12 euro
